Specifically about one doctors recommendation on when to consume fruit.
I find it interesting. Any thoughts?
Best Regards.
Dr Stephen Mak treats terminally ill cancer patients by an "un-orthodox" way and many patients
have recovered. He believes in natural healing in the body against illnesses. See the article below.
Dear Shereen,
Thanks for the email on fruits and juices. It is one of the strategies to heal cancer. As of late, my success rate in curing cancer is about 80%. Cancer patients shouldn't die. The cure for cancer is already found. It is whether you believe it or not. I am sorry for the hundreds of cancer patients who die under the conventional treatments.
Thanks and God bless.
Dr Stephen Mak
EATING FRUIT...
We all think eating fruit means just buying fruit, cutting it and just popping it into our mouths. It's not as easy as you think. It's important to know how and WHEN to eat fruit.
What is the correct way of eating fruits?
IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS!
* FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.
If you eat fruit like that, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.
FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD. Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so.
In the meantime the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil....
So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals! You have heard people complaining — every time I eat watermelon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats up, when I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet, etc — actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat!
Graying hair, balding, nervous outburst, and dark circles under the eyes - all these will NOT happen if you take fruits on an empty stomach.
There is no such thing as some fruits, like orange and lemon, that are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter. If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the Secret of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.
When you need to drink fruit juice - drink only fresh fruit juice, NOT from the cans. Don't even drink juice that has been heated up. Don't eat cooked fruits because you don't get the nutrients at all. You only get to taste. Cooking destroys all the vitamins.
But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it. You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body. Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!
KIWI: Tiny but mighty. This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E & fiber. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.
APPLE: An apple a day keeps the doctor away? Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack & stroke.
STRAWBERRY: Protective Fruit. Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging free radicals.
ORANGE : Sweetest medicine. Taking 2-4 oranges a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as lessens the risk of colon cancer.
WATERMELON: Coolest thirst quencher. Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. They are also a key source of lycopene — the cancer fighting oxidant. Other nutrients found in watermelon are vitamin C & Potassium.
GUAVA & PAPAYA: Top awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their high vitamin C content. Guava is also rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation. Papaya is rich in carotene; this is good for your eyes.
Don’t Drink Cold water after a meal. Can you believe this?? For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

I think this is very interesting... and worth giving some serious consideration. It all makes sense and I am a believer in keeping the body in an alkaline state.
Thanks for posting this!
Sorry, I think this person, if he exists, is making a lot of unsubstantiated claims. I mean, really, you'll avoid gray hair, balding, etc. if you take fruits on an empty stomach?
Nothing against fruits, mind you, they're good and good for you.
Anonymous e mails that claim "cures" for cancer are not good and not good for you.
You asked for any thoughts. Those are mine.
I still say the best way to stay healthy is not to help neighbors push their cars out of ditches;-)
SUN!
Im with Master Crane on this one. Some people get paid way to much to break things down way to far that dont matter. This being one of those. Not once did this email reference a case study about this. "But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it" Really? I just cant believe this. Dont get me wrong theres alot of useful info here also such as the break down of each fruit and what it contains.
As far as the body cleanse goes I have heard alot of people talk about this with mixed reviews. I myself would never do this because of the same reasons I would never be veggian. your body needs protein. Three days without it will hurt more than help. sure you may lose some weight but when you stop the cleanse you will gain all the weight plus 2 or 3 more. You can trick your body or shock it and get results but when you deal with 3 day or one week crazy diets you body reacts and stores much need nutrition when you start eating right again this is what cause the extra weight gain. But real good topic mr falcon thanks for sharing. I love topics about diet and exercise.
also google dr stephen mak. and try to find a picture of this guy. You would think someone who has a 80% success rate would have been featured in a medical article by now.
I'm going to keep an open mind on this one guys. Just because the medical establishment has not endorsed a particular treatment or "medicine" doesn't mean it doesn't deserve consideration, IMO.
I had a cousin who was had terminal cancer. In the late stages of his illness, he switched to "alternative" treatment. Within 6 months he was cancer free. This should have made national headlines. All his regular doctors could say is that he must have never had cancer in the first place.
For the most part, the med. estab. is not in the business of curing people, only ongoing treatment with drugs.(again IMO)
As far as the body cleanse, I have personally done this, on my own and with outside assistance. I have had very good, positive permanent results. Physical and mental.
I personally know several people, competitive athletes and bodybuilders who are vegan or vegitarian. None of them seem to have a problem getting enough protein.(my wife is one of them)
That being said, the vegan thing is not for me personally. But as I said, I will try to keep an open mind:)
I'm way beyond saving my hair line but I have made a point to eat some fruit prior to meals (i.e. apple, handful of grapes, banana) the past few days and I must say - it feels a lot better than pushing a car out of a ditch.
I have also found that it significantly curbs my appetite. This makes portion/caloric control much easier. I like the results and for that single reason, I feel I've gained something from it and plan to stick with it.
Never did research this doctor prior to posting. Fruit content info. appears accurate though. Not sure I can sip juice - tastes too good - and I like my water cold.
Thanks for the responses thus far.
Sun!
Theres no doubt that fruit is good for you and the piece about not to cook you fruit. You also treat veggies with care when you cook them. I read in an article boiling veggies cooks vitamins out of it. Granted theres nothing to support the article but I have heard that numerous times.
and master hawk please dont get take anything I said in pevious post to heart. I was just expressing my personal opinion should have said IMO. I know the there are soy based protiens for vegan but I love steak to much and I could never give it up.
Could you maybe post a piece on that body cleanse I have heard mixed reviews from them in muscle and fitness mag. I would rather form an opinion based on someones exp rather than a writer filling space in a magizine. I just have reservations about its safety and long term effect. but thats based on nothing more than fear of the unknown I guess.
And mr falcon I dont know the truth to this but when I was serving in the marines we was always told to drink room temp water for better absorbtion. It was explained that the body must bring the water to 98.6 or your nature temp to absorb it into cells for hydration. I never questioned it for the simple reason we never had cold water in the sand box.
sorry i jumped to next topic before finishing on. On the cooking veggies example would be when you boil green beans the water turns green and thats alot of the vitamins and minerals in the water. alternative would be to steam them rather than boil. Truth? who real knows?
Agreed on the water temp/absorption ratio Marine. I've incorporated that in the past when training hard. Probably should make it a habit too.
I've also read about the benefits of steaming the veggies. Microwaving is good too. Probably another worthy blog topic for us.
Good discussion. Opens me up for deeper thought on our topics leading to more understanding and knowledge. Keep it up.

SUN!..No need to worry about me taking stuff to heart, I just like to give alternate opinions when I get a chance:) I also believe there is alot of stuff out there that the general public doesn't know about.
As far as the body cleanse, I could tell someone what I have done and what my personal experiences are, but I would never tell anyone to do anything that could be potentially harmful to their health if not done correctly, so I pretty much shy away from giving that kind of advice.
