Way to Go Guys!

I would like to extend another congratulations to a few of our blog guys: Mr. Dragon and Fox, Matt and Hunter Dowds - 1st dan Mr. Cline and Mr Watters - Red Belts.... (I know there were others, but I don't think they follow this blog) You guys really put on a great demonstration and always bring a high level of professionalism with you every time you come to class. I want you to know it is greatly appreciated by everyone involved, especially myself. SUN!

Thanks to you Master Hawk for pulling this together and to all the instructors for their guidance and time. Hunter and I are both proud of the accomplishment and look forward to the challenge of continued growth in martial arts.

For us, 1st dan symbolizes that we now have the knowledge to understand we do not know anything. To think that when we were promoted to yellow belt we both thought we had mastered the Il Dan form. The phrase "ignorance is bliss" has now been fully realized and we both look forward to mining, refining, and tweaking to further grow in our shared passion. With this accomplishment, I know\feel we have more "learning" ahead of us now than when we had when we first tied on the white belt. Akin to golf, you can never golf a perfect game nor can you ever demonstrate (in your own eyes) a perfect technique.

We both look forward to sharing this continued journey with all our PaSaRyu brothers and sisters. Thanks to all for your patience, time, and the examples you set for those following in your wake.

Congratulations Mr. Dragon and Mr. Fox. Very few of those who ever take up martial arts become black belt. And even fewer still really earned it. I know, without a doubt, anyone who is promoted under Master Hawk has earned it.Your comments show you have a solid grasp of what lies ahead and you haven't developed what Master Rhee calls a "big head". We are here to serve and no one I know demonstrates that better than your own chief instructor.
Congrats to Mr. Cline and Mr. Watters. I wish I were in your shoes (provided you're somewhat younger than me!). My red belt days were most fun. At that point I knew I would reach my goal of black belt but there was no hurry. I wanted to BE a black belt. Not in name only but because of the disciplinary dues I was willing to pay. This is when you really earn it, in my not-so-humble opinion.
I look forward to training again soon with you all.

A belated thank you for the kind comments - and big Congratulation to Mr. Fox, Mr. Dragon, and Mr. Kline. It's an honor to share the mat and this board with you all. Looking forward to another 40 or 50 years of it.
